The Knights of Malta thank Umbrella and FlixBus for helping Ukraine
Umbrella Mobility together with our partners from FlixBus helped for many weeks on the Ukrainian-Polish and Ukrainian-Hungarian borders. Our buses supplied humanitarian aid and brought back refugees of the war, especially women and children. In Hungary, we worked very closely with a charity run by the Sovereign Order of the Knights of Malta. It was from this organization that the thanks came now - to all who took part in this operation.
In addition to Umbrella's employees, our colleagues from FlixBus, as well as other Czech and German companies and hundreds of individual donors, took part in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The head of the Maltese Knights charity, Mr. Imre Szabján, especially appreciated the fact that the help was quick and direct.
With the great support of FlixBus, Umbrella operated two humanitarian buses from Prague, two from Berlin, and together with the Knights of Malta we also ensured the operation of two buses that commuted between the Hungarian-Ukrainian border and Budapest and between Budapest, Vienna and Prague.
In total, we transported over 300 tons of humanitarian aid and brought more than 6,000 people fleeing the war to safety on our own buses. We have also helped to protect them from the activities of criminal groups that target refugees, especially women.
We share the letter of thanks with everyone who contributed to this help.
