Umbrella will now provide alternative transport in the north of Germany
The German branch of Umbrella Mobility is celebrating another success - it has won a tender for a multi-year contract to provide alternative bus transport in northern Germany. From 1 June, buses with the Umbrella logo will take care of passengers who are hit by rail traffic shutdowns while traveling in the North Hamburg area.
Umbrella Mobility has been operating in German urban and suburban transport for several years, and its buses run on regular lines in Hamburg and Karlsruhe and in their suburbs. "We are established in Hamburg, we have had the German part of Umbrella and its operating facilities there for many years,” explains Pavel Steiner, CEO and owner of Umbrella Mobility.
The company is also not a newcomer in the field of alternative bus transport. It experienced what it takes during a two-year contract in Hamburg, where its buses were deployed during planned and unexpected outages of railway transport. It also provides the same kind of transport services, for example, in Berlin. From June 1, the northern region of Hamburg will be added. Umbrella Mobility has set aside Setra S 416 buses with lowered floors for alternative transport.
