Umbrella, together with FlixBus, Czech companies and individual donors, has been helping Ukraine for three weeks now

From the Prague premises of our company Umbrella Mobility, double-decker buses depart several times a week, filled with humanitarian aid, to the Ukrainian-Slovak and Ukrainian-Polish borders. We also dispatch other buses from our headquarters in Berlin. Together with our partner, FlixBus, and other Czech and German companies and dozens of individual donors, we have been trying our best to help Ukraine and Ukrainians since the very beginning of the war.

The headquarters of our company in Pramenná Street in Prague 4 - Kunratice serves as a collection point where not only companies, but also dozens of individuals can carry material assistance for Ukraine for three weeks now. You can bring the necessary things here every day from 7 am to 8 pm. Our dispatchers then load humanitarian aid into buses, which are transported to the border by our professional drivers.

Thanks to the cooperation with the Red Cross, the Czech Consulate in Lviv and our on-site contacts, our drivers are able to reach the cross-border zones on the Slovak-Ukrainian and Polish-Ukrainian borders. There, the aid is transferred to Ukrainian trucks and trains, which continue further into the interior of Ukraine. On the way back, our drivers take Ukrainian refugees, especially women and children, to Czech, Polish and German cities.

German colleagues from FlixBus also gradually joined our help, thanks to which we can also send other buses filled with aid several times a week from Berlin. Material assistance includes all items that are currently needed, from hygiene needs to clothing, shoes, mats, mattresses, sleeping bags, blankets, bottled water, durable food, baby food, medicines to, for example, power banks.

We would like to thank everyone who participates in the collection for Ukraine. There are dozens of individuals, but also companies. For example, colleagues from FlixBus GmbH in Munich have spent a considerable amount of money on the purchase of the necessary items and are also involved in providing accommodation for refugees in Berlin and Leipzig. The Bezednámiska.cz e-shop sent several pallets of pet food, we also thank the companies CZ.nic and Rowan Legal. Their employees brought goods for tens of thousands of crowns. The Pe-Du Bakery, which baked a huge amount of long-lasting bread, and the Axunio company, which donated medicines, also helped.

Currently, with the great support of FlixBus, there are two humanitarian buses from Prague, two from Berlin, and together with the Knights of Malta we are also finding two buses, the first commuting between the Hungarian-Ukrainian border and Budapest and the second between Budapest, Vienna and Prague.

In three weeks, we have transported more than 200 tonnes of humanitarian aid and more than 1,400 people fleeing the war to safety. And with your help, we want to help as long as Ukraine and its people need us. We thank all individuals and companies from the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate your help!
